SENIOR FARMHAND – Hay & Mixed Farming Operations 09/09/2025

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Farmhand to take a hands-on role in hay production, quality assurance, storage, sales and logistics. You’ll be supported by the Managing Director, the team and contractors, but you will share responsibility and accountability for ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

This role is perfect for someone who loves machinery, thrives in a busy season, and takes pride in producing premium hay at scale. When hay isn’t being made, you’ll step into livestock and broadacre farming operations, keeping variety in your work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all hay operations and maintenance.
• Operate modern haymaking equipment: mowers, rakes, balers, bale baron, telehandler.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors, trucks, and hay equipment.
• Oversee quality testing, sampling and feed analysis to maintain GreatHAY standards.
• Communicate clearly with management and co-workers on priorities and actions.
• Pitch in with livestock and cropping operations outside the hay season.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Leadership and communication skills to coordinate people and contractors.
• Excellent organisation and time management – especially during busy hay seasons.
• A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to quality and safety.

FARMHAND – Mixed Farming Operations 09/09/2025

We are seeking a Farmhand to take a hands-on role helping with all operations in hay, cropping and livestock. You’ll be supported by the Managing Director, the team and contractors, but you will share responsibility and accountability for ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

This role is perfect for someone who loves variety, thrives in a busy workplace, and takes pride in what they do. You will play a key role in all hay, livestock and broadacre farming operations, keeping variety in your work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all day-to-day operations, maintenance and development projects.
• Operate modern machinery, technology and equipment.
• Record-keeping using farm management apps.
• Communicate clearly with management and co-workers on priorities and actions.
